You Are My Sunshine

Vote for my friends!!!!!

While we were in Kentucky, the worship team from their local church (Cornerstone Church of Lexington) announced they are participating in a scouting competition for their local version of the Sonshine Festival. Basically, they are one of many Christian bands competing for a chance to play at the festival. They call themselves Appian Way.
These guys are awesome, and they have a true heart to worship God. JP and I were looking through the bands to vote for, and even though it is Christian competition, Appian Way was one of the few bands to declare Christ and their vision to worship Him in their statement.
PLEASE VOTE FOR THEM!!!!! It will only take a second!

You can vote every day until the competition ends. Please support these worshipers in their quest to shout it from the rooftops!

About the name: Appian Way is the name of the street where Cornerstone Church of Lexington meets. But it is also the name of a road in ancient Rome that was considered one of Rome's main arteries. It was called the "Queen of Roads." As Christianity began to spread through Rome, the Appian Way became one of the most vital passageways for spreading the gospel. Pretty cool, huh?

Home from KY

We are back from our road trip to Kentucky! And we had a great time! Israel did SOOOOO great in the car, both the way down and the way back up. We were so blessed and proud of her sweet and content spirit. In the end, it took us 14 hours both ways. That's a bit longer than we had expected, but we also took our time, made quite a few stops, and tried to enjoy the drive.
John & Julie's wedding was beautiful and anointed. They had a "He is exalted" theme in the music and message. It was so wonderful to see old friends and for them to meet my family. Some of them had met JP before, but only one of the gang had ever met Rae.
We were pretty bummed to come home to 35 degree weather last night after being in the 70's down south where all of the trees have leaves and blossoming trees were in full bloom everywhere. It was beautiful. But we are glad to be home and thankful for opportunity to take this first family road trip!
For those of you who know John, pictures from their wedding will be available as of Friday, May 2nd here. If you click here you can see some of their engagement pictures.

Here are some of my pictures from the trip.

My husband was a huge blessing to me while we were down there. He occupied the baby while I was being little miss social and would even take her back to the hotel for bed so I could go hang out with my friends. He, in return, loved the quality time with Rae.

Heading South

We are leaving bright and early tomorrow morning for a 12-hour drive to Lexington, Kentucky. A long-time friend of mine is getting married on Saturday. Please keep us in your prayers as we attempt our first ever family road trip with a one-year-old!
Have a great weekend!

Israel's Words

I thought I'd record all the words Israel is saying at 14 months. Every week she seems to pick up another one. But here is what she has so far:

Daddy (and on rare occasions, Mama)
Please
Done
Nana (banana)
Door
Ball
Dog
Rice
Eyes
Yeah
Shoes
Hi
Fish
This

And her newest ones:
Outside
Stinky (very cute -- she waves her hand in front of her nose when she says it)

She calls Sadie "Ssssss" and knows that the cow says "Ooooo."

He knows where her eyes, mouth, tongue, nose, hair, feet, toes, hands and belly are.

She could eat the hind leg off a horse, and her favorites foods are bananas, strawberries, grapes, spaghetti, scrambled eggs and PB&J.

She is precious, sweet, goofy, and spunky, and I thank God for her every time I think of her.

Crazy Robin

This morning, a crazy robin was hovering around JP's van, trying hard to get in, it seemed. He was flying at the windows over and over again. Maybe he saw his reflection??? He did it all morning until JP left, then the crazy bird started doing it to my van.
What is his deal??? video
